    Introspection-C

    What needs to be improved/changed?

    - Our procedures for doing detailed tasks need to be better defined, and also procedures for other employees to request our assistance need to be defined and made easily available. Develop, publish and distribute technology policies and procedures.

    -i.e. -Define privileges (CT add PC to domain, have admin pwd, etc)

    -cell phone usage

    -procedures for how to react to AUP violation.

    -what the NW does and what doesn't (i.e. backup etc) / DoT responsibilities for personal files.

    -Physical labor to move your PC box? Move your phone line and data drop? Need Evaluation time.


    - Cross training within our department.

    ---Asking for help should be viewed as a STRENGTH.

    ---Implement Thursday training sessions.

    ---Tech Challenges?


    Efficiency of our methods. More remote sessions will save driving time and aid efficiency.


    - Teamwork between techs needs improving. Some projects and tasks should be shared.

    --Not a great systemic problem. Still feel primary responsibilities for campus is valuable (face time plus overwatch). For future discussion..

    - Technical training of campus technologists. Some don't seem to do much if any troubleshooting before passing an issue on to Technology. Clarify (again) the role of campus technologists. Invite technologists to attend DoT training sessions (on Thursdays, remember?) Have technologists be the first line of defense for technology. Also, we will be meeting with CT's monthly. WE will need suggestions for topics during those meetings.

    - Work better collectively. There needs to be better quality of teamwork between coworkers.

    - Improve work order help line

    - Take ownership of incoming help desk calls - assess the problem and transfer if a solution was not made. (Often times individuals are given specialized areas, i.e. "mac guy", "AD person""wirelesss guy" and it tends to emphasize a segregation rather than integration.)

    Maintain an SOP on procedures while taking a call. i.e. "Have you asked your CT?"

    CONSIDER a knowledge base.....would we do it? Not now, crawl, walk, then run.

    -Implement "how to" area shared b/w CT and DoT (include items like file backup, Email best practices, etc)

    -Reporting back to CT/campus on campus-related issues & volume.

    -Make better use of HS Interns.

    - Employees could be more proactive and show more initiative.

    - Anticipating and developing future solutions. Partner with T&L.

    - Modeling technology that improves collaboration and productivity

    -Leadership. Following through with ideas. Plan your work......then work your plan!

    ---Open the door to constructive criticism or questioning.
